Sticky Soy Sauce Beef Bowls

Beef mince cooked with a sweet and sticky soy sauce, serve with cauliflower rice and vegetables

Ingredients

Sticky Soy Sauce

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp shaoxing cooking wine
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Beef Bowl

  • ½ tbsp peanut oil
  • 1 brown onion- finely diced
  • 3 garlic cloves- minced
  • 2 cm ginger- minced
  • 500 g lean beef mince
  • 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • ¼ cup sliced spring onions/scallions

Optional Vegetables to Serve

  • cauliflower rice
  • carrots- julienned
  • radish- finely sliced
  • green beans- sautéed
  • cucumber- sliced
  • coriander- leaves picked

Instructions

  • Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a small jar. Shake to combine.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the diced onions and fry for 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger and fry for a minute
  • Add the beef and break it down with a wooden spoon to ensure there are no clumps. Once the beef is evenly browned, pour in the sauce and stir until evenly combined
  • Simmer for 10 minutes or until the sauce has thickened. Add the sesame seeds and spring onions, and stir in to combine.
  • Spoon over cauliflower rice (or regular rice), and add any additional vegetables to your liking. Garnish with more sliced spring onions and coriander leaves
