A balanced and varied plant-focused diet should provide most people with the micronutrients they need. I’m a firm believer that supplements should not replace whole-foods. However, I do love having a trusty Green Powder handy for when I’m feeling a little lacklustre. Sometimes, a bit of cold weather, lack of sleep and over-training will get the immune system down, that’s when my diet needs an extra boost and I make this super Immunity-Boosting Smoothie.
I love adding this Super Greens & Cricket Powder to my green smoothie, not only does it contain the usual powdered super-greens (Maca, Wheat Grass, Spirulina, Barley Grass and Chlorella) but the main ingredient is Organic Cricket Powder- great for an extra protein boost that is easily digested and sustainably sourced with a complete amino acids profile. Protein aside, the added greens powder also contains loads of Vitamin B12 (40% RDI), iron (53% RDI) and plenty of prebiotic fibre.
The cricket powder has no distinguishing taste at all, and when blended with blueberries, juicy apples and coconut water, this green smoothie is a real refreshing treat.
